In the run-up to and for the duration of the Parliament of Plants exhibition (from 6 September 2020) the Seitenlichtsaal will become a changing, growing project space linking the immediate outside world with questions of art.

This will involve a meeting and "cross-fertilisation" of a wide range of scientific approaches to and artistic-poetic perspectives on the plant kingdom. Initiatives, associations and protagonists from different disciplines including botany, floristics and horticulture, forestry and farming, (landscape) architecture, meteorology and art report on their relationship with plants.

Contributions and presentations varying in scope and rhythm capture cyclical processes, at the same time demonstrating what is currently happening in nature. A regularly updated "leafy" calendar affords an insight into growth and development in the fields, forests or gardens. Digital news about the world of plants in real time reflects the current relevance and diversity of the topic, as does a rich selection of publications available for viewing. Dialogic guided tours, workshops and field trips complement and extend this space for encounter.

Curated by Annett Höland and Christiane Meyer-Stoll.

Admission is free.
