The presentation spanning two rooms brings together works from the Kunstmuseum
Liechtenstein collection, starting out from the 1960s.

The daylight-flooded Seitenlichtsaal presents works that focus on being human, the view of the world, or the artists' biographical, social concerns. The works in the Kunstlichtsaal follow a more mathematical, conceptual approach. This polarity reveals a different aesthetic and also another kind of poetry.

In the years in which many of these exhibits were made (and beyond) works with a gentle, sensual theme were often subsumed under the female aspect, while mathematical, conceptual themes tended to be ascribed to the male. Blue and other colors picks up on this outmoded simplification in order to diversify it in a time of polarisation in many current political debates.

Artworks by Louise Bourgeois, Tracey Emin, Fischli/Weiss, Bill Bollinger, Carl Andre and others.
