Art informel is a term used to describe a range of individual positions in abstract painting. There is no manifesto or general agreement, it is a movement comprising individual approaches to undoing the formal principles of the day. The act of self-knowledge while painting, the relationship between internal and external reality or body-conscious gestures are to the fore. Dynamics and rhythm determine the application of colour, driven by automatisms and an interest in pictorial effect. The painters' trains of thought are encrypted in the abstract motifs. This method is founded on the freedom of the individual as the supreme democratic good. The exhibition presents works of art informel along with subsequent and counter-movements from the Monauni collection.
Admission to the exhibition is free of charge.
