"From Altered Paintings to Paintants" raises the question of the essence of pictures, of painting (paintings), more precisely, of an altered painting, and this altered painting changes anew - from - to - paintants. Paintant is a term which Fabian Marcaccio coined in the 1990s by fusing the words "paintings" and "mutant".
